Hong Kong Medal of Honour Awarded to Dr Ma Jun in the 2025 Honours List

Beijing, Hong Kong  [1st July 2025 ] - The Capacity-building Alliance of Sustainable Investment (CASI) is proud to announce that our Chairman, Dr. Ma Jun, has been awarded the prestigious Hong Kong Medal of Honour by the Chief Executive, Mr. John Lee. This recognition is a testament to Dr. Ma’s outstanding contributions to the development of green and sustainable finance policies, as well as his pivotal role in advancing green financing and investment in Hong Kong and beyond.

This distinguished accolade highlights Dr. Ma’s unwavering commitment, visionary leadership, and significant impact in promoting green and sustainable finance across Hong Kong SAR, mainland China, and globally. His work has been instrumental in key areas such as policy formulation, platform building, product innovation, and fostering collaboration with the Greater Bay Area (GBA) and the international community.

“I am deeply honoured and humbled to receive this award,” said Dr. Ma. “Since 2018, green finance in Hong Kong has grown rapidly. As an international green finance hub, Hong Kong is not only a market for sustainable fundraising but also a knowledge center and a platform for global collaboration. HKGFA is proud to have played a critical role in driving the growth of Hong Kong’s green finance market and strengthening its global connectivity. However, there is still much work ahead, and both HKGFA and CASI are looking forward to continuing our efforts to support the decarbonization efforts of Hong Kong SAR, mainland China and the Global South."

The Hong Kong Medal of Honour is a prestigious recognition awarded to individuals for their dedicated service to the community or significant contributions to a specific field over an extended period. The formal presentation ceremony will be held later this year, where Dr. Ma will be honoured alongside other distinguished individuals who have made remarkable contributions to their fields and communities.
